Use a workspace in Cline

Cline uses a workspace through the Altimate Workspaces extension, which configures Cline for you.

Set up

1. Set up the Altimate Workspaces extension in VS Code, and pick a workspace.
2. That's all. The extension adds a datamate entry to Cline's cline_mcp_settings.json. The entry uses an environment variable, ${env:DATAMATES_URL}, which resolves to the right server URL in each VS Code window, so setups with several windows work without extra steps.

Check it's working

1. In Cline's list of MCP servers, datamate appears.
2. Its status shows it as connected.

If Cline was already running, reload the window (Ctrl+Shift+P / Cmd+Shift+P → Developer: Reload Window).
